Hey everyone! Thought I would put out a little update. Its getting very near that time! I'm a little freaked out about not having many days left, but I know it will all come together. As you all know by now, the invitations went out. Scott and I were very happy with them. We completely designed every element of them and with the help of one of Scott's dad's friends, we got them printed. We hope you all like them. We also picked a baker for the cake, found shoes (I'm going to be in pain, but they are pretty - and Scott wound up paying as much for one pair as I paid for 3 - Hee Hee),we made our placecards and table signs - we are getting it done. We also put up our holiday decorations because if we didn't do it now, it wasn't getting done!

Another wonderful thing that happened this weekend was my girls threw me a fantastic bridal shower! It was so much fun and I'm so grateful to them. I will put the photos up soon. Thank you to them for everything!

Hello again world! Sorry that I haven't been writing and its been a few days since we updated at all. Its been a little busy. Aside from the busy world of wedding planning (both ours and helping Karri and Courtney with their new wedding planning venture, stay on the lookout for when we fix the technical issues on www.thegotogals.com and it goes live) work has been a little crazy.

I've just finished producing the latest update to the On-Air Graphics package for NBA-TV for the 2005-06 Basketball season. Feel free to click on one of these photos to launch a little movie showing the highlights. Pretty much anything that isn't actual game footage is something we created (including any of the graphics that are on top of said game footage). And for those of you who still don't really get what it is that I do feel free to click over to the company web site (www.arnson.biz).

Anywho, onto the real reason for the updating....

Karri is great!!!

I know this and I'm sure you all do too. But, why do I say this again now?

Friday night we went down to Anaheim to see Paul McCartney at the Pond with Ally, Quentin & Lisa (along with her Aunt and Uncle). Karri had told me to pack for two nights since she had a surprise for me for our upcoming 2 years together anniversary. Well after spending a nice afternoon watching Chciken Little at Downtown Disney (we went down early to avoid some of the traffic) we met Ally & Q for dinner. Before heading to the show we had a little car dilemma since we didn't need to pay for two cars to park so this is when Karri had to give up the surprise so we could leave our car at our hotel and drive over together. That's right she found the last hotel room in Anaheim and we were going to spend 2 nights and get to go to Disneyland the next day! Yay Karri!!!!!!

Long story short.... we had a wonderful weekend together.

We spent Saturday roaming around Disneyland which is always a good time for us. The park was about as crowded as either of us had ever seen it, but we were determined to have a good time.

Take a gander at some highlights....

One of the highlights was happening to be there on the day that they were releasing some new 50th Anniversary art done by Pop Artist Shag who was also signing in the park. So... at some point we will add to the redecorating effort.

Finally, take a look at a odd attempt at a VR 360 view of Main Street while we wait for the fireoworks to start. Look out for Karri's tell tale mouse ear vail :)

Talk to you all soon!

Happy Halloween everyone! Other than having to work, Scott and I had a nice night. We took a walk around our neighborhood with Ally and Quentin to see all the decorated houses. I refused to go into the haunted house! It was a fun time. Then Scott and I went and had some dinner at a new restaurant we have never tried. It was really cute but we ate too much rich food and now are slowly slipping into food comas.

Since we did absolutely nothing last year, we decided yesterday to get a pumpkin! We went to the pumpkin patch and to quote the Peanuts, we found the most sincere pumpkin in all the patch. Well, I guess thats not a direct quote. But we did watch "Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" while carving our pumpkin. See:

We thought we would share photos of our little Halloween creation. Enjoy!

Hello All. Sorry it has been so long since we have written. To be honest, wedding planning is not always a happy or fun thing. We needed to take a break from sharing for awhile but we promise not to take such a long break again.

In the past 2 months we have been so busy. Scott just finished up a project for work that had him working very long hours but he did an amazing job and everyone is very happy with him! Especially me! My wedding coordinating business is going well. Courtney and I have done 5 weddings in the past two months and have had nothing but happy brides and lovely family members to work with.

Scott and I also got to take a quick 3 day vacation to New York! We love it there! Carissa and Jaime were both wonderful for putting us up and showing up the city. We did everything in a very short amount of time! Most important to me was that I got to finally share one of my greatest musical theatre loves - RENT - with Scott. We did the lottery and Carissa won! So she gave us her tickets and we got to sit front row. I've seen the show on stage like 15 times but it was Scott's first time. It was very special to me and I'll never forget it. I also got to meet Aunt Hedda, Uncle Stephen, Jesse and Caroline, Jesse's girlfriend! They were all so wonderful and gave us a story that Scott and I will be able to tell for the rest of our lives. They gave us some Waterford crystal that we carried all day. It visited Brooklyn, Central Park, Tiffanys, Strawberry Fields and the Dakota, had a lovely dinner and wound up its evening sitting on the fountain at Lincoln Center (before going on a drive to Hoboken with Jaime). It had a long day! :0) If you would like to see our New York Pictures, please email me and I will send you the link. We are going to put up a picture page on here very soon!

Also, today is Elaine's birthday! Happy Birthday Elaine! I hope you had a wonderful day.

O.k., its time to go to bed now. Scott is getting very tired and so am I. We gained an hour today but used it up! I will share our fun pumpkin story tomorrow and may include pictures! :) And I promise, Scott will write soon.

Ally saw my news making, hottest day of the year in Virginia, boy scouts passing out, business trip and raised me with a freakin' category five New Orleans Hurricane business trip! That's right, Al got sent to New Orleans a couple of days ago before anyone knew the hurricane would hit there and had to be pulled out on Saturday night and sent to Houston until she could fly back home on Monday. We are all very grateful that she is alright. Way to stay alive Hurricane Ally!

Hi All. Sorry it's been so long since we've written, its been busy around here! Scott's mom and dad threw us an engagement party in Denver and then Elaine's friends threw me a bridal shower. It was all amazing and beautiful. We appreciated it so much. I promise in the next post to share about all that and show you pictures. Right now I wanted to let you all see some of the photos of our first engagement shoot! We get two with our photographer and will show you the second one in a couple of weeks when we get the photos. We shot this at a place called "Gardens of the World." It was really pretty and we had a great time. Here are a couple of photos from the shoot:

Ever wonder what Scott and Karri do for fun on an average Sunday night?

That's right, we create, decorate and bake our own mini pizzas (and then take pictures of them)! Ah the simple life! I think we are both thrilled that we have found someone who loves to do the same silly things! Oh and we saw "Wedding Crashers" yesterday after I got back from doing a site visit with one of my brides and it is really funny! That's all-have a good night!

-Karri

August 7, 2005

No, I'm not crazy. I realize that my last post might not be the best evidence to that statement but it was merely a hint as to which secret I was keeping! You see, my own little pookie has gone and gotten herself engaged! That's right, Ally and Quentin are getting married!!!

Congrats to the both of them! I have already started to plan the wedding (even though Al wants to not think about planning for awhile) and I couldn't be more thrilled!!

August 3, 2005

A while back one of the things that showed Karri we were meant to be was a simple test....

If I say Hey.. you say?????

If you get it right all is well.

Now you might ask yourself what this has to do with anything. On my way home from work I realized that Karri must have hacked my iPod. For those of you who don't realize, Karri has some spectacularly diverse musical tastes. It is a good thing since I do as well. Not all of our tastes cross 100% (i.e. her love of the boy bands or my sweet spot for the wondrous John Denver). Well tonight she clearly got ahold of my tunz. While stuck in some particularly fantastic 101 traffic I was treated to the following out there sequence...

It kicked off with "Can You Here The People Sing" that lead into "Hip Hop Hooray!", "Fight the Power", "Tennessee", and "The Humpty Dance". This may not seem too out there yet, but note that the tail end of this musical journey was "Its a Hard Knock Life" and "All I Ask of You".

Obviously I don't mind, since I like all these tracks or they wouldn't have made it from the computer to the iPod, but that isn't random, its a crazy play list that will have to be posted to be beheld. This is what the iPod thinks is "random".

That's the woman I love... not a little bit country a little bit rock and roll, but... a little bit Broadway a little bit Old Skool Ghetto (and I truly love her)

- Scott

You know what else I like? I like Pookie - Garfield's little teddy bear friend. Just look at him:

He's cute, he's cuddly but that Pookie is still full of surprises huh? Always popping up when Garfield doesn't expect him with his little secrets. :0)

Oh and on another note, I think I really am too obsessed with television. I was looking through my TIVO-esq list and kept thinking that I really didn't want to watch half of what I have taped (and I have 101 things taped) yet I just can't bring myself to erase them. I can't! Its like I just know I'll miss the one thing I should have watched. I clearly have some issues but I can't wait to watch that new Kathy Griffin show!

Oh and yes, I've kept my promise not to spill the secret to anyone yet incase you were curious! Stupid secret spy person!'

-Karri

August 2, 2005

You see, I have a problem. I have a secret. I even have a picture of my secret. But because it is a secret, I'm unable to share anything about it which kills me. If I could show you the picture I would but since I can't, you get this:

Why? Eh, I like Strawberry Shortcake. I don't like the new Strawberry Shortcake, just the old school one. The new one, there is just something wrong about her look you know? It's like the Care Bears (to which I've always loved because that has always been my nickname) but why did they have to change them? Good for me I kept a lot of my toys from childhood. Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake dolls, Smurfs, Star Wars action figures, etc. Do you see what happens to me when I have a secret? I talk about Smurfs and Care Bears! Curses to you secret spy person - you know who you are! Perhaps tomorrow I'll talk about how happy I am that they haven't changed the look of "My Little Pony" (which I just got on DVD)!

July 31, 2005

What a week it has been! On my birthday I came home and Scott had a surprise waiting for me. I knew this was going to be a big surprise because I had to turn down a wedding coordinating job for it. I thought we were going to Vegas or something - boy was I wrong. Scott has arranged for us to go to New York! How insane is that?! We are going to be staying with Jamie and Carissa and I'll finally get to meet Aunt Hedda! One of the other very cool things is, my friend (and Bridesmaid) Katie will be in town and I haven't seen her in years. I just started to cry when I realized all that was involved! Scott is crazy but I love him very much and can never express how much every single thing he does means to me. Here is what he created and wrapped so I could have something to unwrap on my birthday:

We then went to dinner and when we came back I was scared to death when a flash went off in my apartment after I came in the door and realized Courtney, Ally and Lisa were there to celebrate my birthday with me! I really do have the best friends!

The next morning I had to catch a plane to Virginia to oversee a DVD shoot on a film called "Felicity: An American Girl Movie." I was a bit freaked out because I had never flown by myself but everyone assured me it would be uneventful. Let me just say this, Virginia in July is hot! H-O-T! You know those boy scouts that passed out in Virginia? Yeah, it was 10 degrees cooler where they were! We started our shoot on Wednesday at 6:30 a.m. and finished at 7:00 p.m. It was 113 degrees - I'm not sure what the humidity was but can I just tell you that at times it felt like someone stuck us in an oven and there was no getting out! The news said that we were in the hottest spot in the state (Colonial Williamsburg). But even with all that heat and humidity, not one person complained the entire day. We all just helped each other out and made it through. I know if we were in Los Angeles trying to do this, the crew would walk away.

Now that I've complained about the heat, lets share some nice stuff. Colonial Williamsburg is very cool. Beautiful buildings and nice people. We got to see some of the houses including the Governor's Palace but most of the time, we were just trying to focus on finding some air for the little girls who were working on the shoot. My favorite moment of the day though was when we were shooting at the jail and there was a little squirrel walking around. It was really close and didn't seem bothered by anything. So I'm watching it walk around and all the sudden, it lays down! I've never seen a squirrel lay down in my life. It was so cool. I seriously took more pictures of the squirrel than any house I think! :0) Here, see the coolness that is the squirrel:

The next day I got on my flight to go to Atlanta to make my connection and wound up sitting on the plane for 2 hours before they let us take off. By the time I finally got to Atlanta, my plane had taken off and I was stranded. I panicked and instantly called Scott and he was trying to help me through it. Luckily after waiting a couple hours in line for the delta people, one amazing Delta guy took pity on me and got me a room at the Holiday Inn and gave me a voucher to get some dinner. I grabbed him and hugged him, I was so relieved. You see, they were not giving out hotel vouchers to anyone because the delay was because of weather, they were turning everyone down. He told me he gave it to me because I was actually nice and respectful of him. I think he took pity on the crying girl. So I got to my hotel room and ate my sandwich I got at the airport and by that time, it was midnight and I went to sleep.

The next day I went to the airport 2 and a half hours early which was good since me and everyone else who got stranded (which was a ton of planes worth of people) had to go through extra security. I finally had to do the pat down! I got on the plane and prayed it would take off. In order to get home before 8:00 p.m. I had to be rerouted to LAX so Scott had to come and pick me up and take me to the Burbank airport so I could pick up my car. I went to work for a little bit after that.

So that was my crazy weekend, in a very brief note. Scott and I have just been trying to relax a bit this weekend. I got all the laundry done this morning and that made me very happy. Funny what little things can make you happy huh? Now I have to go and build some baskets and prepare for my wedding coordinator meeting with one of my brides this week. Busy, busy bee I am.

Where is Scott you ask? Why is he not writing in this? I don't know! What don't you email him and ask!

July 24th, 2005

Wow, today was a very busy day! I had a makeup artist come at 9:00 a.m. to do a makeup trial on me. Its fun to just sit and have someone work on you for awhile. I told her I looked like a barbie because my face was so smooth. Unfortunately it was very hot when we went to our engagement shoot so trying to battle sweat with the makeup was a bit difficult. The engagement shoot was a lot of fun though. There were three photographers there shooting and they took a ton of photos. We went to the Gardens of the World in Thousand Oaks. What we saw of it was beautiful but we want to go back and really explore it. After the shoot we went straight to my parents house to celebrate my birthday. We went to a place called "Johnny's Pizza" and had a ton of fun eating and playing games.

My mom and dad spent far too much money on me and got me a beautiful pearl necklace and earrings. They were amazing. And what a better way to top of a birthday lunch than with sugar free cake! So happy! Scott and I got home about 8:00 p.m. and by that time my back was hurting so bad because of my sunburn that we just sat and Scott put medicating stuff on it. I wish it would work! We are both very tired so we are going to pass out early. So far this has been an amazing birthday and I appreciate everything from everyone! Talk to you all later!

July 23rd, 2006

Hello all! I just need to write today to talk a bit how amazing the man I'm going to marry is. Today he told me we were going someplace but it was a surprise (for my birthday again). I was convinced that we were going someplace like the King Tut exhibit or the Butterfly Exhibit but no. He took me to Universal Studios and had my family meet us there as a surprise. It was so wonderful to be able to spend the day with everyone! Isn't that amazing? I love him for not only thinking about my birthday but involving my family in it.

The only downside of yesterday is that it was incredibly hot and I got really, really sunburned but it was worth it. I took it as practice for Virginia. Oh yeah, I found out on Friday that I have to fly to Virginia on on Tuesday for a shoot. Its supposed to be 100 degrees with 95% humidity - I'm going to die. After the park we went to the mall to try and find me some clothes for the trip since I don't have anything that doesn't have sleeves and denser material. Luckily we found something along with two really cute outfits for our beach engagement shoot. Tomorrow I have a makeup artist coming at 9:00 a.m. to do a trial run and then we are off to the deep valley for our first photo shoot. Hopefully it won't be as hot as it was today but it probably will be - I don't want all my professional makeup to melt off! After that we are heading to my parents house for some birthday cake and pizza party fun! :0)

Oh and on Friday night I went to see WICKED for the third and final time here in LA with Ally, Courtney, Quentin, Julie and her fiance. There were no understudies but everyone was 100% better this time. It was like I took Scott to overacting night or something. I felt bad that he had to see a show like that considering how great the show is. Oh well, maybe we'll see it again some time and it will be better for me.

I'll write more tomorrow, I just needed to scream to the world how much I love this amazing person I am marrying. So unselfish and wonderful and never stops thinking about my happiness. So amazing!

-Karri

July 21st, 2006

Two thoughts run through my head this morning. One is, how is it possible I only have 42 minutes left on my 100 hour TIVO (like) system? I seriously watch too much tv but I can't stop myself! I love it! I mean really, how can one be asked not to watch her 10 year old soap every day or Big Brother 3 times a week? And you can't seriously ask me to erase that Simpson's episode that makes Scott and I laugh all the time right? Yeah, its a bit crazy when you are trying to watch an hour long show and erase it before the next show starts because you don't have enough space.

The second thought is, what is Scott planning for my birthday present? I had to turn down doing a wedding last night because he said he had a surprise and just to trust him about not working Sept. 4th. I trust him, but when you are asking me to turn down work/money, I get anxious thinking "what if." I will try and stop because I'm sure his surprise is going to be amazing.

On the wedding front, I can't stop buying magazines. I justified last night's purchase by saying "Look honey, they have a groom's guide from tuxes to toasts. Its for you too." The men's section of the magazine turned out to be like 2 pages long. Opps. Well I can always say I need it for research for the brides whose wedding I coordinate. Tonight I have a meeting with one of my brides to go over her wedding. Should be fun!

Well I better get upstairs and wake Scott up to start our day at work. Talk to you all later!

Back from San Diego. Padres game, A friends panel at Comi-con, and a 5 hour train ride with breakdown. All in all a great weekend. Since it was Karri's weekend I think I'll let her fill you in more.

I will however award the honorary "Is one of us supposed to be the dog in this scenario" Quote of the Weekend to Karri for the following gem (while addressing the driver of Lexus trying to merge without looking)... "Stay. Stay" Good puppy."

- Scott

Hi all! Yes, it was a wonderful weekend! On Friday night Scott and I went and saw Wicked. I got to see a show with no understudies and I just have to say, I want my understudy back! Angry Glinda just did not do it for me. When we got home Scott surprised me by telling me we were going to San Diego on the train! I was so excited because it meant I wouldn't have to be sitting in traffic (which I hate) and we wouldn't have to leave at 5:00 a.m. to miss the traffic!

When we arrived, he then told me that my friend Amy arranged to get us passes to come and see her speak on her very first panel for her show Teen Titans! I was so happy because I thought I couldn't go and I really wanted to be there for support her. Of course, she was great! She even signed an autograph! Go Amy!

Since we had two hours until the baseball game across the street, we decided to walk the floor to see what crazy stuff people were selling. I found a ton of cels and toys I wanted to buy, but I was good and didn't get anything. Then we dropped Amy off at her hotel (she would join us later at the game) and walked across the entry way to the Padres game where Ally, Quentin, Courtney and William were all there waiting for us!

That's right, my friends drove down to San Diego to surprise me because they are amazing! It was exciting to be in a stadium that I had never been in and even more exciting that they served veggie hotdogs and hamburgers! :0) Oh and lets not forget, Gordon Biersch fries just like at Dodger Stadium! Here's the thing you should know about San Diego - it's cold. It's really cold. I know, I know Karri is always cold, what's new right? Well this time, everyone was cold! Thank god Amy let me use her jacket, but it wasn't warm enough so I had to go to drastic measures:

Anyways, the Padres won the game which was great and even more great was getting to see Shawn Green play again (even if it was for Arizona).

That night was fireworks night which was so great because we didn't get to see fireworks on the 4th of July and I was a little bummed about it, so getting them for my birthday (kinda) was very fun! Then we all took pictures and went back to the hotel (thanks Courtney and William for driving us - even though it took us forever to find the freeway)! Then today we went and found the bus (here is Scott looking for the bus)

and we took it to downtown to the train station. Luckily we found a cute little diner for some breakfast and then went and stood in line for the train that wound up breaking down 4 times and had to be towed, yes I said towed, into Los Angeles. It took us like 5 hours to get home but we had a ton of fun just sitting together and talking and planning more wedding stuff.

So thank you Scott, Amy, Ally, Courtney, Quentin and William, for my pre-birthday weekend! It was amazing and wonderful and I love you all! Scott, thank you for arranging it all, you are amazing my love!

-Karri

July 15th, 2006

Not too much to report today from me. The computer is almost back to normal with surprisingly little lost files. Waiting for Karri to come trek into Hollywood so we can go see Wicked together after some dinner. Should be fun. Then tomorrow we are off for the begininning of Karri's B-Day Fun Time! A spread out celebration of the girl. More details to come after we see if I can manage to pull off any actual surprises during weekend one of the celebration leading up to her actual birthday.

Have a great weekend and Cheers!

-Scott

July 14th, 2006

Learn from me my friends, learn. I beg you.

Onto the source of that in a moment. First off, a big thanks to Alanis. Karri, Ally and I went to see her at the Disney Hall last night. Damn fine show. Other than her great performance there are a few things to say... first... LEAVE YOUR BLACKBERRY AT HOME OR TURNED OFF!!! If you are at a point that you need to check your email between (and sometimes even during) EVERY song then you don't have time to go to a show so stay home and let the rest of us enjoy ourselves. Second... I don't care how much you love an artist... shut the F%*# up. Screaming at the top of your longs at the stage doesn't achieve anything.

Now for the leason of the day. BACK UP YOUR DATA OFTEN. I consider myself a relative power user in the computer realm. I thought I was even good about backing up my stuff. Well since it was going on a little over two weeks since I backed up and yesterday morning I even thought to myself "Scott, your machine is acting up you should back up today". Well I didn't and yesterday afternoon... BOOM! Mechanical failure of my hard drive. A very pleasant clicking sound and a frozen computer left me knowing that I was screwed.

Thanks for listening! Have a great Friday!

-Scott

July 12th, 2006

Happy Tuesday to all. First we will start off with recent wedding news...We finally sent out our Save-the-Date cards today! I know I have been saying this every time we do something big planning wise but "its really going to happen!" Also on Monday I set up a makeup trial for July 24th (before our engagement shoot). I found somone who is incredibly reasonable so lets hope it works out! Need to find a hair person. Tonight we got to go and see our friends Elise and Randy and their cute, cute daughter Maddie. I do believe I have lost Scott though. That little baby was flirting so much with him and really, who can compete with a tiny baby? I've accepted it. Today I also found out my mom, brother and sister-in-law are going to join Scott and I in Denver when we go in August and that makes us very happy! We wish my dad would join us but he just won't fly. Well, its late and we have to wake up early tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be great - its Alanis day with Scott and Ally! She is doing an acoustic show at the Walt Disney Hall - could anything be better? I'm really tired, so I guess its time to sign off for now. Oh and by the way, I'm evil. I just laughed when a kid got kicked off of "The Scholar" because he was so cocky. Hee Hee. Have a good Wednesday!

-Karri

I think that today I'll just throw out some random thoughts of the day. First off, I miss our spider a little bit. I know that Karri found it quite scary, but it was interesting to see it every morning and I always felt bad about destroying the web. The rest are inspired by "The Scholar" which we are watching now. I'll be the first to own up to shock that I am writing about a reality show. I don't like reality TV, but as it is on more in my house I have found myself watching and getting into some of them. I like this show because it isn't mean and the end result will send a deserving kid to college. My observations are... when did it become so crucial to cover one's ass. Much like the disclaimers before DVD commentaries they stopped before a coming back from a commercial to a note saying the views of the contestants (the teams were asked to debate same sex marriage) do not reflect the views of the Regan Presidential Library (where they are filming). Really!?!?!? If someone is unwilling to go to a Presidential Library because a TV show that filmed there had an opinion contrary to theirs do we really need to care? My other thought is wondering when the horn cue became a necessity when dealing with government dramatically? Watching tonight it almost felt like we had stumbled across the Bravo/TNT home to all things "Presidential" (ie if we tried right now we could watch Dave, The American President or The West Wing if we wanted to) and hear similar music.

A tad of the randomness that runs through my mind.

July 11th, 2006

Hi All!  Sorry there was nothing in here this weekend, we were a bit busy.  With what you ask?  Well let me tell you!  After a very good garage sale day with my parents, I got my hair dyed so when we do our engagement photos in a couple of weeks, I won’t look like I have half brown, half red hair.  Then we came home, I got ready and went with Ally and her sister to finally see WICKED!  I’ve been in love with this show since it came out so its been a long time coming for me to see it and LOVED it!  Scott and I are going on Friday so I can’t wait to see how he likes it.  Then on Sunday I spent some time at the rubber stamp convention with Amy.  That’s right, I said rubber stamp convention.  The women there are crazy but I got some really nice paints and some new ideas for crafts I can do.  I have special things I’m going to make for some people in the wedding.  When do I have time for the crafts?  I have no idea – but I will make the time!  Amy and I are going to have a craft night soon because its been awhile since we’ve been able to do that.  Then I spent the night creating two more baskets for people.  All in all, a busy weekend.

Oh and an update on the Spider – after 5 consecutive days of building huge webs off of Scott’s car – he went away.  Here is a pic of the big guy (scary huh?)!

Tomorrow we are sending out our Save-the-Date cards, we hope you all like them.  We designed them ourselves and are very happy with them.  This week is going to be fun for Scott and I.  Tonight we are going to have dinner with Elise and Randy!  On Wednesday we are going to see Alanis Morrisette!  On Thursday I have a meeting with a client.  On Friday it’s WICKED again!  Then this weekend I am being taken out of town for an early Birthday surprise!  Well, its off now to watch the reruns of the Amazing Race they are showing on Gameshow Network!  We are so excited because neither one of us have seen the first season yet!  Have a good night!

July 7th, 2006

I'm sure that this won't be the only blog out there to talk about this today so I'll keep it brief. Waking up this morning to news reports about bombings in a major Western city without all the information was quite weird to relive as was wondering about the safety of some of the same friends I was worried about a few years back. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been affected and we both dream (especially on days like today) for peace and understanding in the world.

So Scott is the serious, thoughtful one of the night and I'm the silly "hey lets talk about frivolous things" girl. Both have their place right? We had our food tasting tonight at Calamigos. The passed Hors d'oeuvres were great! We wanted more! The food was really good and we think everyone will be really happy when they sit down to eat at the wedding. They have redecorated the room some more and we spent a lot more time just looking and figuring out where to put certain things. It was a good night and we got to have some quality time together. Tomorrow night is Hollywood Bowl night with Ally so I won't be posting until very late. Have a good night all!

So as you can see, we changed not only the Home page, but every page!  Hope you all like it.  Scott has become as obsessed with it as I am.  Look at the “We Love LA” page for the reason he was late getting home tonight!  The randomness of the night - there is this huge spider in our garage that builds a huge web off of Scott’s car and the above pipes every morning.  We drive away and destroy it but in the morning it is back.  Is this a sign?  Should we be worried?  :0)  Tomorrow night is the taste testing at our reception site.  We’ll let you know how it goes!

Today I find myself preoccupied with thoughts of the website.  Once you create a website, you want to sit and tweak it and change pictures and figure out colors for hours.  We have come up with a plan for a new Index (home) page for this site – hopefully it will look fun.  We are having a lot of fun putting this site together.  Scott has learned some tricks and is now really into it.  Today was a good day.  I got a new client to do Day of Wedding Coordination in September.  Should be fun.  Since I’m getting back into it from not doing it for a little while, I’m offering to take on some clients for free to get my name out there but I don’t know how best to do that.  It seems like every day there is someone new on The Knot (that is a website I visit daily and talk to other crazy brides-to-be like myself) saying “I’ve decided to be a wedding planner!  Email me.”  I don’t want to do that so I guess I put this out to you, my friends to say, if you know someone getting married that needs a wedding coordinator (full or day-of) for free, let me know.  Well, I guess that’s it for now.  I’m going to go and eat some of the amazing shrimp and salmon that Scott has cooked up on the barbeque!  I’ll write more tomorrow when we figure out how to make the new home page!

Happy Fourth of July everyone! We hope you all had a great long Holiday weekend. I worked all weekend and finally got this website to a spot this morning where I felt I could put it up and let people see it! It will get updated as soon as we get information. It's my first time ever doing a website so I hope you all like it! Besides web design, Scott and I spent the day registering! We were originally going to just go to Bed, Bath and Beyond but shortly realized that we should just take care of all the stores at the same time while the information was fresh in our minds. Registering is a funny thing. You know its something everyone does, but it feels kinda wrong. You don't want to ask your friends to buy you stuff. I haven't asked someone to specifically buy me something in years so its weird. You do find yourself getting a little stressed out while you are putting together a list of items like the cool looking yellow mixer, the matching pot holders and the matching bowls. But then, right in the middle of your little yellow fantasy you realize - the store is out of them! So now you have to hope that one of the two other stores you picked have them. Then you find yourself getting overly excited in the middle of Bloomingdales because, wow, there they are! All the sudden you don't feel so bad about asking people for gifts because you feel the need to run out and tell everyone "buy the yellow stuff because it's seasonal!" Then you find yourself thinking that you are not going to get it and its disheartening because in your yellow fantasy you've completely redecorated your kitchen in shades of yellow and it looks like something straight out of Trading Spaces (even though you know in the back of your mind you don't really even have the cabinet space to fit any of it). Then you start thinking about all the money you are going to have to eventually put out after the wedding because you are not going to get everything on your list and now you MUST have it all, even though yesterday you didn't know it existed or that you needed it. Yeah - registering is a weird process and I feel I've become a slave to the registry list. I've already updated all of them about three times. Someone stop me.

I was going to let Karri enjoy the first random thought of the day page, but I have to tell the world her true feelings of the evening. While watching a South Park special, we were treated to a Girls Gone Wild commercial. Word of warning to our future daughter....the line of the evening from Karri is...."I will kick her in the face if she ever does that *&^%." So now you know. Don't go on Girls Gone Wild and if you do, don't call home like the dumb-ass in the comercial (although I guess the fact that this girl is in the ad is a statement about her in itself). Happy B-Day America!
